The path towards sustainable development has been longer and steeper than expected, according to the current structural and economic models. But there is an alternative to shorten the route. The social impact of development projects is higher when there is a link between the three sectors of society, the government, business and civil society organizations, and then reach the goals set in the social, economic and environmental areas. 

Empirical evidence indicates that, by giving representation to more sectors of society, society creates inclusive and not extractive institutions. Why inclusive institutions lead to development? As suggested by authors such as J. D. Acemoglu and James Robinson in their book Why Nations Fail: The Origins of Power, Prosperity, and Poverty. We know from CSR that the correct use of stakeholder's maps, help assign appropriate weight to all Stakeholders. Which helps establish inclusive and non-extractive models. We also reviewed the cases of successful public-private partnerships and realized that they have, both, an altruistic impulse and a utilitarian one. 

What should be considered when designing and implementing a social project or government policy? How can businesses benefit by linking with other sectors? How can the civil society organizations mobilize actions and resources for the causes they support? La ruta hacia el desarrollo sostenible ha resultado más larga y empinada de lo esperado, según los modelos estructurales y económicos vigentes de los países en vías de desarrollo. Pero existe una alternativa para acortar la ruta. El impacto social de proyectos de desarrollo es mayor cuando existe una vinculación entre los tres sectores de la sociedad, el gobierno, las empresas y las organizaciones civiles, y se alcanzan entonces las metas planteadas en los ámbitos social, económico y ambiental.

Por difícil que sea aceptarlo, la evidencia empírica indica que, al darle tribuna a más sectores de la sociedad, las instituciones que ésta crea promueven modelos inclusivos y no extractivos. Y son los modelos inclusivos los que conducen al desarrollo, según autores Daron Acemoglu y James Robinson en su libro Porqué Fracasan Los Países.

¿Por qué las instituciones inclusivas conducen a una sociedad al desarrollo y las otras no? ¿Qué se debe considerar al diseñar e implementar un proyecto social? ¿Cómo pueden beneficiarse las empresas al vincularse más con otros sectores? ¿Cómo pueden las organizaciones de la sociedad civil movilizar voluntades y recursos en pro de las causas que defienden?
