Empowerment Philanthropy / Filantropia del empoderamiento
ESPAÑOL ABAJO Empowerment philanthropy is now being suggested as a solution to social and environmental issues. According to this study, strategic philanthropy has failed because it aims to find a solution to these problems, which is then developed, executed, and scaled up. In contrast, empowerment philanthropy seeks to empower individuals politically and economically so they can help themselves by finding and developing their own solutions. I cover this topic in my book Partnerships & Networks, where I describe three levels to understand corporate social responsibility: 1. Passive Recipient, 2. Public of Interest or Stakeholder, and 3. Co-investor. Passive recipient reflects a one-way relation, generally with little resources, where the beneficiary doesn’t contribute to the solution.
